Shakira is celebrating the first anniversary of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran album with a special gift to her fans. The Colombian pop icon released the long-awaited music video for her heartbreaking song “Última.”

On March 22, 2024, Shakira made a triumphant return to the music scene with her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Much of the LP dealt with her processing the fallout of her breakup with Gerard Piqué. She roasted the former Spanish footballer in her hits like “TQG” with Karol G and Bizarrap’s “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53m” where Piqué’s girlfriend Clara Chia Martí also caught strays. In February, Shakira’s comeback LP won Best Latin Pop Album at the Grammy Awards. Now, she is celebrating the year anniversary of Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran with the “Última” music video.

“Today marks the first anniversary of our album, Las Mujeres No Ya Lloran, and I have this gift for you: my video for ‘Última,’ which, as you know, is a very personal song,” she wrote in a post on Instagram. “I hope you like it.”

Back in March 2024, Shakira was spotted filming a music video around New York City. A year later, and the video for “Última” is finally here. Out of all the songs about Piqué on Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, “Última” is the most vulnerable, with Shakira looking back on their failed relationship. In previous interviews, Shakira said that would be the last song that she writes about him.

The music video for “Última” was directed by Shakira’s long-time collaborator Jaume de Laiguana. In the emotional video, Shakira sings the song’s heart-wrenching lyrics in scenic spots of New York City, including the subway. The video premiered shortly before Shakira’s second sold-out show at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. She is in the middle of performing seven concerts at the stadium as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour
