Yahritza y Su Esencia is at it again. On Nov. 16, the sibling trio teamed up with the former Banda El Recodo vocalist Luis Alfonso “El Yaki” Partida for their joint track “Nos Equivocamos.” The result? A sorrowful banda-infused duet that narrates a story of wanting more of a friends-with-benefits situation.
“OUT NOW‼️ DISPONIBLE EN TODAS LAS PLATAFORMAS MI GENTE‼️🫶🏼,” the Mexican-American group announced yesterday (Nov. 16) when the audio was released. “OFICIAL VIDEO SALE MAÑANA EN YOUTUBE POR EL CANAL DE YAHRITZA Y SU ESENCIA 🎥♥️.”
The new video, directed by David Cruz and Roberto Rivera, features the two unique vocalists crooning heartfelt lyrics. With lyrics like, “O quizás quisiste menos / Yo siempre quise más / No solo amigos con derechos / Pero en mi corazón tuve que dejar el secreto / Por que al final de cuentas solamente era un juego / Que obviamente pierdo,” the two talk about a situationship that left their hearts in pieces. As far as the visuals go, the video features Yahritza Martinez’s hometown, Yakima, WA, and we also see shots of the singer duo on top of a roof letting their emotions out.
Social media users are praising the new collaboration. A YouTube user, @user-xi6lw4pf9g, wrote: “I’ve never been a fan of ranchera music, but I don’t know what it is about Yahritza’s voice that fascinates me !!!!! Keep going beautiful girl, may the shine of your voice and lyrics never fade 💛.” Another YouTube user, @vivilapreferida, echoed the same sentiment: “I’m not hurting but I felt this song, the only thing missing was my tequila….. loved the video; fans of yahritza y su esencia are here ❤❤❤❤❤❤.”
Moreover, it appears the highly-anticipated collaboration has been in the works for some time now. On Oct. 10, El Yaki wrote on his Instagram: “I’ve been wanting to share this project with you for a long time… I’m excited for you to hear it already! 🤩 #NOSEQUIVOCAMOS 🔜 thanks team @yahritzaysuesencia for all the attention…. 🥰.”
