Following a controversial move to Spain last year, the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards will be held in a different location. Today (April 17), the Latin Recording Academy announced that the awards will return to Miami, FL.

For the past few years, the Latin Grammy Awards were held in Las Vegas, NV. Last year, the Latin Recording Academy made a big change when the 2023 ceremony took place in Seville, Spain. That marked the first time that “Latin Music’s Biggest Night” took place outside of the U.S. The move appeared to be set in stone for the next two ceremonies after the Latin Recording Academy revealed a three-year partnership with the Junta de Andalucía in Seville.

For the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Latin Grammy Awards, the Latin Recording Academy decided to return the event to the U.S. This year’s awards will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL, on Nov. 14. This will mark the third Latin Grammy Awards in Miami following the 2003 and 2020 ceremonies.

“Since our first awards presentation in the year 2000, the Latin GRAMMYs have provided an international spotlight for Latin music second to none and provided iconic performances that have become part of global music and pop culture history,” Manuel Abud, the Latin Recording Academy’s CEO, shared in a statement. “We are thrilled to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Miami. Miami has evolved to become the epicenter of Latin entertainment and we are grateful for the community support and enthusiasm we have received.”

Last month, the Latin Recording Academy added two new categories that will appear at the 2024 ceremony. The Contemporary Mexican Music Album category will shine a light on corridos tumbados, sierreño, and other emerging música mexicana genres. Latine EDM acts will have their music recognized in the Best Latin Electronic Music Performance category.

The three-hour telecast for the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards will air on live on Univision, Galavisión, and ViX on Nov. 14.
