Bad Bunny’s booty-eating lyric on “Safaera” might’ve proven to be too controversial to include in the setlist of his Uforia live stream concert. Many of the Puerto Rican superstar’s fans noticed the absence of the beloved perreo banger and the reactions were hilarious.

Bad Bunny rolled through New York City on the back of a trailer for his hotly-anticipated virtual concert. Over 1.4 million people tuned in and saw him perform hits from his latest album YHLQMDLG like “Yo Perreo Sola” and the previous smashes from debut, 2018’s X 100pre. He noticeably skipped over “Safaera” with fellow Boricua artists Jowell y Randy and Ñengo Flow. There were many fans disappointed by the song’s omission.

Benito’s fans were appreciative of the free concert, but they still felt some type of way about “Safaera” not making the cut.

A bit of the consensus online speculates that Bad Bunny did not perform “Safaera” because of the concern from the brands or sponsors involved with the event. He ruffled feathers earlier this year when he was awarded by ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) as the Latin Music Songwriter of the Year. Detractors took umbrage with someone who wrote “Safaera” taking the award. Fans think that might’ve been the song’s undoing.

Whatever the reason might’ve been, “Safaera,” you were sorely missed. Hopefully the song can be included in the next show “si Dios lo permite.”
