Brooklyn-based funk outfit IGBO are making waves with their jazz-influenced funky tracks. Music to dance to should not lack instrumentation complexity and with “Gimme Gimme” IGBO seem ready to prove just that while having lots of fun in the process.
The track production travels back in time and channels the likes of Funkadelic. It features an irresistible rhythmic section, Hammond organs, funky horns, guitars à la Prince, and just about any type of percussion that will make you want to move. The song also features lead vocals by 10ille and backing vocals by Lorely Rodriguez (a.k.a. Empress Of), Denitia Odigie, and Jypsy Jeyfree.
