DJs Hewy and Illegally Fresh Welcome You To One of Summer’s Most Poppington Parties: #TheGreatestDayEver

The Brunch Bounce concept has become a veritable East Coast dance party and gathering-as-movement. Right off their success at Mysteryland Festival USA, the Brunch Bounce crew and a ton of others, including the folks at APT 78, keep things moving this Saturday with their #TheGreatestDayEver event at Brooklyn’s 50 Kent Ave. Travi$ Scott will perform alongside DJs like Trippy Turtle, Craze, and more. Two mixes exclusive to Remezcla have surfaced for the event, from DJs Hewy and Illegally Fresh.

Hewy’s mix can best be described as soulful, heavy, and turnt, drawing on everything from Chicago house to trap. His collection of house-friendly rhythms features a plethora of pulsating breaks. These are the type of heavy drum kicks and massive drops that require 20 minutes of letting your food settle before taking it to the dance floor. Whether you’re avoiding cramps or turning up, it’s well worth a listen.

Illegally Fresh’s mix takes things in a more populist and festival-friendly direction. Kicking off with a quote from Robert Downey’s performance in Ironman, the rest of the mix is nothing but a good time. He focuses on upbeat vocal house samples and classic four-on-the-floor beats. Things calm down a little with a series of thumping soul edits, including Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” The Isley Brothers’  cover of “Twist and Shout,” and Rupee’s “Tempted to Touch.” Illegally Fresh closes things out with some trap and dubstep to bring a triumphant end to the turn up.
