Ñu-cumbia is not dead, and all the way from Germany, Andrés Digital puts together a collection of evidence to support this. Andrés Digital Y Su Conjunto Extraterrestrial is the name of the album, that at first impression looks like a ñu-cumbia all starts compilation of sorts, produced and directed by him, because on every single track there’s a familiar guest or remixer.
Pretty much every sub-genre in the tropical bass universe gets visited by Andrés’ spaceship on this intergalactic trip, including, of course the combination of cumbia with Jamaican-style dancehall, which was key to the global proliferation of ñu-cumbia since the genesis of the movement. Here we have Berlin-based MC Longfingah doing some raggamuffin toasting over an irresistible cumbia riddim provided by Andrés and it’s a free download for a limited time, exclusively for Remezcla followers. Make sure to check out the whole release on iTunes.
