This month, R&B singer, producer, and all-around musical mastermind Gabriel Garzón-Montano will release his debut LP Jardín via Stones Throw Records. He’s slowly been giving us a chance to stockpile the album’s singles, releasing first the retro breakup tune “Sour Mango” and then the happy-go-lucky ditty “The Game.” Today, he’s giving us one more taste of his upcoming project by dropping the new song “Crawl.”

The vibe is grown and sexy on this one, a throwback to eternally cool and sparse 90s R&B. Garzón-Montano gets romantic as he sings, but never loses that laid-back composure that makes his music seem so effortless. He also gets some help from David Frazier Jr., who plays drums on the buttery-smooth track.

“‘Crawl’ is about making love to someone you find irresistible,” Garzón-Montano says. “It’s about honoring their beauty, and appreciating what they do for you and doing it back. Babies making babies. Bouncy.”

Whether he’s being lovey-dovey, endlessly optimistic, or heartsick, we’re into the multiple dimensions the French-Colombian artist has been showcasing on Jardín. To keep drumming up excitement for the album, which comes out on January 27, Garzón-Montano also announced that fans can pre-order the album today online. He’ll celebrate its release on January 26 by playing a show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall Of Williamsburg, and then he launches a UK/EU tour in the winter.
