This past weekend, iLoveMakonnen released “Big Gucci” on October 17 (10/17 aka National Gucci Mane Day), the perfect time to pay tribute to the founder of the 1017 Brick Squad. When iLoveMakonnen – who spent his teenage years in Atlanta – began making music, he was surrounded and inspired by the local music scene cultivated in part by Gucci Mane. “Big Gucci,” produced by Richie Souf, pays tribute to the currently incarcerated rapper and shares one clear message throughout the track: “they can’t wait ’til Big Gucci get out.” With Brick Squad and iLoveMakonnen fans uniting, the Free Gucci movement is still going strong.
