Little by little, Venezuela-born and Barcelona-based producer Cardopusher has earned his spot as a household name in the global electronic music scene, thanks to his continuous output of outstanding and eclectic tracks, which encompass breakcore, dubstep, house, techno, and beyond. He just released Manipulator, his new full-length on the prestigious German imprint Boysnoize Records, and it expands on what he’s put out through the label the last few years: hard-hitting, dancefloor-breaking techno tracks for days.
He’s also put together a mix for Mixmag that feels like the perfect companion to Manipulator, since it’s filled with trance-inducing techno greatness, managing to seamlessly jump from acid to EBM to Italo disco to Angelo Badalamenti. He mixes tracks by Lee Gamble, Throbbing Gristle, Boys Noize, ClassicWorks partner Nehuen, and even some of his original productions, all with such mastery that you’ll understand why he’s garnered so much acclaim.
