Still riding the wave of his highly-acclaimed debut album Prender el Alma, Andes step producer Nicola Cruz has just announced an eight-date summer tour across the U.S., and we couldn’t be more excited. Following a lengthy string of European dates – which includes an appearance at this year’s Sónar Festival in Barcelona – the French-Ecuadorian artist is set to perform his breathtaking mix of folk and electronic rhythms before audiences on both coasts of the American landscape, including shows in New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami.

To celebrate the announcement, Cruz just dropped a remix of his 2015 collaboration with Daniela Baquero, (aka Huaira). The remix comes courtesy of two like-minded producers: El Búho and Barrio Lindo, via their latest joint affair, History of Colour. This British-Argentine connection materialized back in 2014 with their eponymous EP on ZZK Records, and they’ve only released pure magic ever since. For their remix of “Colibria,” they don’t rush it; things unravel in an organic way, building up from a scarce beat adorned with bouncy synths, to a full-on cumbia-inflected dance track. They also make sure to leave plenty of space for Huaira’s vocals to shine, making the track a great example of symbiotic production bliss.
