Los Angeles quartet Levitation Room didn’t choose their name out of thin air; their brand of psych-pop can actually make us feel like floating. Three years after releasing Ethos, their debut album on Burger Records, the band has now announced their sophomore full-length, titled Headspace, which is set to drop on October 4 via Greenway Records. The announcement comes together with brand new single “Mr. Polydactyl Cat,” which we’re premiering here at Remezcla, along with its trippy music video.

“Mr. Polydactyl Cat” sounds like it was locked in a vault during the Summer of Love and was finally unearthed and dusted off in 2019; it’s a lovely tale of a cat born with an extra set of toes, soundtracked by instrumentation that breathes out its psychedelic fumes, instantly intoxicating us with its feel-good vibes.

But the cute cat on the song turns into a booze and weed-loving criminal on the song’s music video. Now an anthropomorphic feline, our protagonist wreaks havoc in the city, descending into an animated trip right on time for the slowed-down break. This audiovisual combo has us hallucinating on the cheap.
