It looks like fantastic Brazilian singer/songwriter SILVA came back from last year’s Tokyo edition of the Red Bull Music Academy with fresh new ideas. Over a year after the release of Vista Pro Mar, the follow-up to his great debut album, Claridão, he’s now shared a brand new single, called “Noite,” and he brought a friend along for the ride.
Here, Lucas Silva switches things up a little bit and goes for a full-on funk-infused pop sound – and he nails it. From the fat bass groove, to the recurring one-note synth line’s swing and the disco music references, this song is a hit without having the classic hit structure. He alternates vocal duties with fast-rising rapper Don L, which sounds like a great fit, and with Brazilian star Lulu Santos, who knocks it out of the park with a killer verse, the only part that sort of resembles a chorus. We’re digging this new side of Silva for sure.
