Thatiana Diaz, Remezcla and HipLatina´s Editor in Chief has won “Editor of the Year” at the 2025 Digiday Media Awards, in a new category just added to the awards for 2025.

The winners are meant to celebrate the power of partnerships and emerging technologies, with this year’s winners leaning heavily on short-form video, interactive storytelling through formats like VR and AR, and collaboration to drive engagement and innovation.

“To be the inaugural recipient of this award as a Latina editor is an honor I don’t take lightly. I share this with my incredible team at Remezcla & HipLatina, who inspire me every day, and with every person who’s mentored, supported, and believed in me,” says Diaz about the award. “This recognition is also for our community, for the next generation of storytellers, and for anyone who’s ever felt unseen in this industry. We’re here, and we’re just getting started.”

Diaz has a long trajectory in the industry, that includes launching People Chica at People Magazine in 2017 and Somos, Refinery29’s Latinx sub-brand, in 2020, and now leading Remezcla and HipLatina. In her current role, Diaz’s focus is positioning Latine media as a guiding force in the industry, prioritizing its potential for substantial growth while reinforcing its cultural significance.

Other recipients of the Digiday Media Awards include BBC Studios’ StoryWorks and Brand USA, who took home Best Branded Content Program for their joint effort on “USA Through Film,” NBCUniversal Advertising & Partnerships, which won another new category, Sales Team of the Year and music media company Genius and PepsiCo’s Brisk who won Best Brand Partnership – B2C category for their Doja Cat collaboration.
