Alexa Moreno is having a moment. The Mexican gymnast who recently secured a spot on her country’s 2020 Olympic team has just won the Premio Nacional del Deporte, and she’ll be honored as the best non-professional Mexican athlete.

Moreno took some time to thank her supporters via Twitter. “Before anything, I want to thank all the people who have supported me,” she said in a video message. “Today, I was informed that I was the winner of the Premio Nacional del Deporte. I’m very shocked. The truth is that I didn’t imagine this would happen at all.”

Moreno went viral during the 2016 Olympics because trolls began to body-shame her, saying she didn’t have a typical gymnast’s body. However, many people came back and showed their support for her. And in the years since, she has seen some hardships, but she’s also seen some success, including becoming the first Mexican gymnast to medal at a world championship.
