Late last night, Footy Headlines leaked what will most likely be Club América’s centenario club crest, celebrating the team’s founding 100 years ago (October 12, 1916, to be exact).
The escudo has a special retro vibe to it, with a pale yellow and dark navy blue in comparison to the modern shield’s more vibrant yellow and blue, as well as a more subtle silhouette of the Americas hidden beneath the C and A in the forefront. Reports suggest that the team’s new Nike kits will pay homage to tradition and legacy in a similar way.

Club América will wear the patch starting with the 2016 Apertura season. This could be the first of many surprises in store for the afición americanista this year, according to Sporting President Ricardo Peláez, so get psyched.
