Karol G is performing again! On August 14, it was announced that the Colombian pop star will be performing the halftime show for the NFL’s first international game this season. The game will see the Los Angeles Chargers take on the AFC-winning Kansas City Chiefs, from the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 5. And where can you watch it? YouTube.
“I’m so excited to be part of YouTube’s first-ever NFL live broadcast, it’s truly an honor and a moment I’m so proud to be part of,” KAROL G said in a press statement. “I’ve watched many NFL halftime shows over the years and now having this opportunity to bring my music to this global stage means the world to me. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in São Paulo and fans all around the world.”
Earlier this year, Karol dropped her album TROPICOQUETA, ushering in a new musical era full of nostalgia and creative interpolations. Throughout her new album, she crossed genres like vallenato, dembow, reggaeton, ranchera, Brazilian funk, bachata, and cumbia villera. Now, she’ll perform the album live in a stadium for the first time, giving fans a glimpse of what could hint at an upcoming tour.
With this international game and Latina star in the center, the NFL is proving that there are football fans beyond the U.S. In this upcoming season, the organization announced global locations such as the aforementioned Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil (September 5); the Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland (September 28); the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, UK (October 5 and October 12); and the Wembley Stadium in London, UK (October 19). The last two international games will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany (November 9), and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain (November 16).

In addtion, it was announced this morning (August 14) that Brazilian singer Ana Castela will be singing the Brazilian national anthem. Singing the U.S. national anthem will be composer and jazz musician Kamasi Washington.
