Joining a new team can be nerve-wracking for any professional athlete; a change of scenery can uproot an entire life, and there are worries about fitting into a new team culture. To that end, one of the first things a player must do when switching teams is to befriend his new teammates. Often times, there will be a period of hazing or some challenges issued to the new guy on the team that act as bonding experiences, all in the name of “good fun.” Just ask Luis Fernando Muriel.

The Colombian striker’s move to Sevilla was well-received among fans of the club, and their newfound appreciation might only grow with a video that’s quickly making the rounds. In an Instagram clip posted to Muriel’s account, the 26-year-old can be seen standing at a dinner table singing along to Nicky Jam’s “Travesuras” while his new Sevilla teammates cheer him on.

Towards the end of the video, the team can be seen joining into the performance, clapping along to create a pseudo-beat. Moments like this are what build great team chemistry, and when everyone on the team can keep things light hearted and be themselves, it would make sense that they would feel confident playing next to each other on the pitch.

Muriel joined Sevilla earlier this month on a five-year deal from Sampdoria, for a club-record €20 million ($23.3 million) fee. Muriel had previously been linked with Everton and West Ham United before Sevilla swooped in to lock him up through the 2022 season.

The Colombian scored 11 goals in 31 Serie A appearances for Sampdoria last season, the last of a three-year spell at the Genoa club. Previously, he had been at fellow Serie A side Udinese, which he joined in 2010 from Deportivo Cali.
