The FIFA World Cup 2026 mascots have been revealed on Thursday, September 25!

Zayu the Jaguar will be the Mexico mascot, and he will join Maple the Moose, who is Canada’s mascot, and Clutch the Bald Eagle, who is the United States’ mascot, representing the host countries. The mascots are meant to inspire fans to celebrate the local culture and will be playable under the FIFAe umbrella.

Zayu the Jaguar comes from the jungles of Southern Mexico, and “embodies the rich heritage and vibrant spirit of the country.” Like many Mexicans, Zayu is a striker, intimidating defenders. Outsider of the pitch, Zayu is “a symbol of cultural celebration and connection, carrying the heart of Mexico with pride.”

Maple the Moose is a street style-loving artist, music enthusiast and dedicated goalkeeper from Canada. He’s found purpose through creativity, resilience and unapologetic individuality. With a knack for making legendary saves and a heart full of strength and leadership, Maple combines endless stories and unstoppable flair.

Clutch the Bald Eagle is fearless on the pitch as he represented the United States. Clutch leads by action — rallying teammates, lifting spirits and turning every challenge into an opportunity to rise higher. A social spark and sports fanatic, Clutch, like all great midfielders, unites people wherever they go, proving that true flight is about purpose, passion and play.

“The 26 team has just got bigger – and more fun! Maple, Zayu and Clutch are full of joy, energy and the spirit of togetherness, just like the FIFA World Cup itself,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino about the mascots. “The three mascots are central to the incredible, entertaining atmosphere we’re creating for this game-changing tournament. They’ll win hearts and spark celebrations across North America and around the world. I can already picture them on children’s shirts, high-fiving football legends and – in another first for this tournament – starring in video games played by millions worldwide.”

Yes, that’s right. The FIFA mascots will be the first to be playable in a new game, FIFA Heroes, which is set to debut next year. The game will feature teams made up of mascots past and present, football icons, and fictional characters from popular shows and films. The game will be available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Like always, the mascots will also be available on merchandising and collectibles, and will be seen during the games, particularly during the opening ceremony in each respective country.
