Once again, the NFL is set to kick off the season by showcasing that the fan base is not just in the United States.

The Los Angeles Chargers, who had already been announced to be playing a regular season game in Brazil in the upcoming season, will not just play any week, but opening week. The game will be played Sept. 5 in São Paulo, Brazil, at Corinthians Arena. The Chargers’ opponent will be announced on May 14, when the full 2025 NFL schedule is released.

Brazil hosts the second-largest international NFL fanbase after Mexico, so it makes sense that it would once again be the country in Latin America chosen for an NFL game.

Corinthians Arena was also an official venue for both the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympic Games. And the Super Bowl Champions Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers played the first NFL regular season game in South America.

“The 2025 NFL season will see seven regular season games played outside of the U.S. — the most ever regular season international games to date, including historic first games in iconic venues in Berlin, Dublin and Madrid,” NFL Executive Vice President, Club Business, Major Events & International Peter O’Reilly said. “The 2025 International Games schedule showcases an exciting selection of matchups featuring major NFL stars, bringing our game directly to fans around the world, and underscores our collective commitment to global growth as we continue our journey to becoming a truly global sport.”

After the Chargers play in Brazil, the Pittsburgh Steelers will face the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, on September 28. Then the Vikings will travel to London to play the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 5th. That same stadium will also see the New York Jets take on the Denver Broncos on October 12. Finally, also in London, but on October 19, the Jacksonville Jaguars will face off against the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium.

On November 9, the Indianapolis Colts will host the Atlanta Falcons at the Olympic Stadium Berlin. And the last international game will be played in Madrid on Nov.16, with the Miami Dolphins taking on the Washington Commanders at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
