The 2026 World Cup Official Ball Has Been Revealed

One of the most important parts of the 2026 World Cup is set.
Adidas has kicked off the journey towards the next World Cup by unveiling the 2026 FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball at an exclusive event at Brooklyn Bridge Park on October 2nd. The event featured some of the game’s most iconic legends and a hologram against the New York City skyline.

The official match ball, called Trionda, is set to be the most advanced ball the company has ever created. The name means three (Tri) waves (Onda), and the ball features red, blue, and green designs, which pay homage to the three host countries of the upcoming World Cup: Mexico, the United States, and Canada. It was crafted using a brand-new four-panel ball construction for high performance, with fluid design geometry that replicates the waves represented in the ball’s official name.

Each different panel features the country’s colors of red, blue, and green, which connect in a triangle in the center to symbolize the three nations coming together to host the tournament for the first time. Official iconography of each nation is also included: a star for the USA, a maple leaf for Canada, and an eagle for Mexico. The gold embellishment in the design is meant to be a homage to the FIFA World Cup trophy. The ball also features a new iteration of adidas’ Connected Ball Technology, which will allow for faster in-game officiating decisions.
“With TRIONDA, every detail has an impact. The embossed textures, layered graphics, and bold colours make the ball stand out instantly, creating a design that feels alive in your hands. It’s the most visually playful FIFA World Cup ball we’ve ever created–a piece of craftsmanship built for the biggest stage, that makes you want to hold it, admire it, and above all, play with it,” said Sam Handy, General Manager at adidas Football.
You can purchase your own Trionda from today in adidas, selected suppliers, and online at adidas.com.
The FIFA 2026 World Cup will take place between June 11 and July 19 of 2026. Argentina is currently the defending champion.
