This week, the World Cup kicked off without the US Men’s National Team – which means North America’s true team, El Tri, has extra support and fandom behind them. After all, Mexico’s national team has already basically made the US their second home; some of its biggest stars play in the MLS, they sell more tickets here than team USA, they have a large fan base with nearly 40 million Mexicans living in the country, and they’ve played more than half of their international matches here since 2007.
