Point Records couldn’t find a better way to end their 2017 than with a massive party to tease what they’ve got in the works for 2018. Though the imprint is based in Los Angeles, the label’s roster is largely composed of talent from the Dominican Republic. This Friday, they’re throwing Island Time, a show in Santo Domingo with a lineup that features the best of the best from their roster. Sink into the easygoing vibes of favorites like Diego Raposo and Seyer, Boundary’s mellow beats, and Kazitexx, an ascendant hip-hop collective straight out of Haiti. Also performing is LA’s Kelman Duran, Point’s newest recruitment, who released his debut EP 1804 KIDS earlier this year.

If you’re in the Dominican capital, trust us when we say this is a solid weekend plan. But if you need further proof, the Point Records crew put together a special Spotify playlist with tracks from all the artists performing at Island Time. Traversing dark trap, addictive dembow, moody techno, and smooth tropical bass, these 15 songs serve as the perfect introduction to what the label’s all about.

Point Records’ Island Time party takes place at 10 p.m. on Friday, December 22 at La Espiral 313. For more information, head to their official Facebook event.
