High school crushes are intense. Who didn’t have a moment of unrequited love while wandering the halls of their high school? That is exactly what you get in Crush, a new rom-com coming to Hulu starring Auli’i Cravalho (Moana). The coming-of-age movie follows Paige, played by Rowan Blanchard, as she faces her admissions process with Cal Arts and a self-inflicted, internal love triangle with Gabriella, played by Isabella Ferreria, and AJ, played by Cravalho.

In the trailer, you are introduced to Paige and you can immediately tell she only has eyes for Gabriella. So much so that the aspiring artist decides to try out for the track team so she can get closer to Gabriella. However, fate has other plans and Paige is partnered up with AJ.

As her feelings for AJ grow, Paige tries to stay focused on Gabriella, her original crush. The whirlwind of emotion, teenage angst, and budding romance lead Paige to a fork in the road where she has to make a decision: Gabriella or AJ. And as the audience, we can’t help but cheer for Auli’i Cravalho’s AJ.

If you have been waiting for a Latine, teenage, LGBTQ+, coming-of-age, rom-com, then Hulu’s got you! The movie also stars Megan Mullally, Tyler Alvarez, Teala Dunn, Rico Paris, Addie Weyrich, Aasif Mandvi, and Michelle Buteau. Crush will be streaming on Hulu on April 29.
