There are so many reasons why this week’s episode of Drag Race: México was very special. The top four finalists from season one returned to get roasted by the six remaining contestants in the competition. The queens also paid homage to the iconic looks of Selena on the runway. Then the bottom two later battled it out in a lip-sync to a classic by the late Mexican-American icon.

This week Lolita Banana, Taiga Brava, and Óscar Madrazo were joined on the judging panel this week by Mexican director Manolo Caro.

Over in the Werk Room, Taiga Brava and Lolita Banana announced that the contestants would put their comedy chops to the test in a roast challenge. The co-hosts then invited back last season’s top four finalists: Regina Voce, Matraka, Gala Varo, and winner Cristian Peralta.

“That’s my daughter!” Gala Varo yelled when she reunited with her drag daughter Horacio Potasio. On another note, Gala Varo is now competing and representing Mexico on RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars, which premieres today, August 16.

After winning last week’s challenge, Jenary Bloom and Unique decided the running order for the comedy roast. They put Horacio Potasio in the opening slot and she won her second Maxi Challenge. During her set, she joked about how often Cristian Peralta mentioned her family last season.

Horacio Potasio also talked about how Regina Voce lost both Queen of the Universe and Drag Race: México. She jokingly added that she was wearing a thong worn by her Gala Varo from her run on the show.

The theme on the runway this week was Night of 1,000 Selenas. Horacio Potasio shined in an outfit that was inspired by Selena’s from the Amor Prohibido album cover. Eva Blunt blew the judges away with her drag interpretation of the Selena hit “La Carcacha.” With his hands in the shape of a heart, Caro shouted to her, “What a wonderful homage!” Unique was another standout with her recreation of Selena’s white gown at the 1994 Grammy Awards and one of her performance outfits.

Unique and Jenary Bloom bombed back-to-back in the comedy roast challenge. The judges announced them as the bottom two queens of the week. Both contestants dance their hearts out in a lip-sync to Selena’s funky song “Techno Cumbia.” Following her fourth time lip-syncing in the competition (and eliminating Nina de la Fuente’s drag family), Unique became the sixth queen to sashay away.
