Anuel AA is finally owning up to having a daughter with a Colombian woman named Melissa Vallecilla. After nearly a year of denying the claim, the Puerto Rican rapper acknowledged that he is the father of Gianella and apologized for being absent in her life.

Anuel AA reportedly met Vallecilla in September 2021 at a party that was thrown by Drake in Houston. Despite Vallecilla saying that she was in a relationship with Anuel AA for a few months, he claimed that in his Instagram story last night that he was with her only “for 4 or 5 hours” that night. He added that he was in a “single period” between his breakup with Karol G and later meeting Yailin La Más Viral. Vallecilla gave birth to their daughter, Gianella Gazmey Vallecilla in June 2022.

Vallecilla made it known that Anuel AA was absent in Gianella’s life after her birth. Anuel AA is paying child support for her but he had also rebuffed all of Vallecilla’s claims about being Gianella’s father, even after she showed paternity tests to the media that proved otherwise.

In a photo with his 9-year-old son Pablo, he revealed that he had siblings. “Yes, you have two beautiful little sisters and soon we will all be together one day,” he wrote in Spanish. Anuel AA was referring to Gianella and his daughter Cattleya with his ex-wife Yailin La Más Viral. It was Cattleya’s birth in March that moved him to be there more for Gianella.

In more posts in his Instagram story, Anuel AA apologized to his fans that saw him as a “bad person” for not seeing his Gianella. “I didn’t handle the situation correctly because it occurred with so much evil and lies against me,” he wrote. “I should have picked up my daughter since she was born, been 100 percent present for her from her first breath, but no one is born knowing everything.”

Despite his fractured relationships with his daughters’ mothers, he added, “Children aren’t to blame for their parent’s problems. [Gianella] is my daughter and I love her without even seeing her yet.” While promising to be a “better father,” Anuel AA wrote, “We all make mistakes, but I learned to not repeat them.” Vallecilla hasn’t responded publicly yet to Anuel AA’s Instagram posts.
