Are dembow corridos the next big thing? As a new testament, El Alfa and Peso Pluma just dropped “Plebada,” their unique fusion that blends in elements of Dominican dembow and música mexicana today (June 8).

The new hypnotizing anthem boasts a dembow bass-heavy beat, with trumpet undertones, which represent Peso Pluma’s música mexicana elements currently taking over the airwaves. The music video, directed by FLUFFYDESIGNZ, starts by showing expensive cars and motorcycles. We see the two artists vibing with one another. Peso then lays down his hard-hitting verse with his signature raspy voice. The video then follows El Alfa as he sings in front of a trio dressed as charros but with masks over their faces. With Peso’s unique wails and El Alfa’s signature voice, the two have created an earworm of a banger.
Fans are excited about the highly-anticipated collaboration. A Twitter user wrote: “El Alfa x Peso Pluma is crazzzzzzzzy i was def not expecting that.” Another Twitter user echoed the same sentiment: “I thought I wasn’t going to like it but what a fucking great song that Peso Pluma released with the Alfa no mames 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
Other social media users compare Peso Pluma’s “Music Sessions #55” with Bizarrap to this new single. A Twitter user wrote: “I liked the Bizarrap and Peso Pluma session but I can say that the El Alfa y Peso Pluma song sounds better than that session because here it will be a perfect mix between corridos and dembow.”
El Alfa has been thriving lately. The Dominican rapper recently announced his upcoming La Leyenda del Dembow Tour on June 5. His upcoming tour will reach major cities like Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, and Chicago. He was also confirmed as the first dembow artist to perform at Rolling Loud Miami, taking place on July 21 to 23 in Miami Gardens, FL.
On the other hand, Peso Pluma has been releasing music non-stop. Just last week, he released his collaboration “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 55” with Bizarrap. He’s also working behind the scenes too. On June 6, Peso’s record label released “Dembow Bélico,” a dembow-infused corrido by his alleged cousin Tito Doble P. Could this be the beginning of a new Dominican and Mexican movement?
