Rauw Alejandro has finally opened up about his next album. Last night (Sept. 27), the Puerto Rican superstar announced the LP’s release date and dropped the music video for “Pasaporte,” featuring Mr. NaisGai.

After breaking up with Rosalía last year, Rauw Alejandro split with his longtime manager Eric Duars a few months later. This past year, he has focused on building a new team around him and setting up a new era in his career. He returned in May with the cinematic music video for “Touching the Sky.” He gave his fans more reggaeton with his follow-up single “Dejame Entrar.” And now, he’s announcing his upcoming album Cosa Nuestra with the release of the “Pasaporte” music video.

Throughout his career, Rauw Alejandro has been known for mixing EDM into songs, especially with his producer Mr. NaisGai. They have joined forces again for the feel-good club banger “Pasaporte.” Rauw sings about forgetting about his problems by jet-setting to other countries. He shouts out partying in places like Madrid, Paris, Mexico, New York City, and his native Puerto Rico. Moreover, after mentioning previous collaborators The Martinez Brothers on the song, the Latine DJs appear with him in the lavish music video.

Rauw will release his album Cosa Nuestra on Nov. 15. The cover art for the “Pasaporte” single includes passport stamps from his previous albums Afrodisíaco, Vice Versa, and Saturno. The last LP he released was Playa Saturno in July 2023.

In recent interviews, Rauw Alejandro has said that he will take on the persona of Raúl Alejandro y Su Orquesta, which marks a return to his Puerto Rican roots and an era when salsa bandleaders ruled. The “Punto 40” singer channeled a bit of Héctor Lavoe on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet earlier this month. His live performance included a bomba version of “Diluvio” with Puerto Rican musicians and dancers.
