Francelys Infante, the wife of Romeo Santos, is opening up about a near-death experience in order to save lives. The Latina beauty entrepreneur, and founder of Not 2 Broke for Beauty, revealed that she had once suffered from a brain aneurysm.
In an interview with TODAY, Infante revealed that what she thought was a migraine last year turned out to be three brain aneurysms. After feeling like “someone was squeezing my brain” and being unable to see through one eye, Infante made the decision to visit her doctor. Following MRI scans, her doctor discovered the brain aneurysms that were on the verge of bursting.
“My whole life just changed within a blink of an eye,” she said. A brain aneurysm can be life-threatening after rupturing. “When [my doctor] told me, ‘You can die, you need to get surgery yesterday, ASAP’… I ended up getting on a flight, reorganized and (restructured) my whole family, my kids — I have three children under 5 — in less than 24, 48 hours.”
Infante’s doctors treated the brain aneurysms just in time before they burst during a three-hour operation. She has recovered well from the surgery and continues to get annual check-ups for brain aneurysms. Now Infante is talking about her experience to raise awareness during Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, which takes place in September.
“Something bad had to happen so that something good could arise,” she said. “It makes me happy to share my story with people all around the world that have no idea that this could happen to them.”
After long keeping his private life hidden, Santos revealed in January 2023 that Infante was his partner in his “Solo Conmigo” music video. She appeared pregnant in the video with their son Milano. The couple now share three children together.
