With the PNP’s (New Progressive Party) Jenniffer González’s leading the election results in Puerto Rico’s gubernatorial race, Bad Bunny has responded. The Puerto Rican superstar had backed candidate Juan Dalmau from Puerto Rico’s Independence Party and the Citizen Victory Movement (PIP).

Throughout his career, Bad Bunny has always used his platform to speak up on issues that are important to him. He was especially vocal during the 2024 gubernatorial race in Puerto Rico. The “Monaco” hit-maker purchased billboards on the island that encouraged people to not vote for PNP.

Bad Bunny was spotted voting yesterday (November 5) for Dalmau, who he endorsed during a political rally over the weekend.

The votes are now being counted with 91 percent of the precincts in Puerto Rico reporting, per the AP. PNP’s González is leading the race so far with 39 percent of the vote. PIP’s Dalmau is in second place with 33 percent of the vote. He pulled ahead of Jesús Manuel Ortiz, who is backed by the Popular Democratic Party (PPD).

Bad Bunny addressed the results in a post on X. In talking about his concerns of the PNP continuing to rule Puerto Rico with a González win, he also applauded the efforts of the people that pushed Dalmau towards the top.

“I am also concerned about the future of PUERTO RICO and the damage that it could face in the coming years, that is why I speak out and I will not stop doing so,” Bad Bunny wrote. “But I still have hope because more and more people are waking up and joining those who dream and fight for a better Puerto Rico. We are still here, we are not giving up.”

Bad Bunny also pledged to continue to work closely with Puerto Rico’s next governor. At the same time, he remained firm in believing Puerto Rico needs to cut ties with Luma Energy and called for the reform of the Puerto Rico State Commission on Elections (CEE).

“Whoever governs, I have always been and will be available and ready to contribute to my country as I have always done,” he wrote. “Whoever governs, we will be vigilant, monitoring, and ensuring that things are done right, and we will not wait 4 years to confront anyone who does things wrong.”
