Following a wildly successful first season, it was recently announced that Wednesday, the Netflix hit series would be adding pop sensation Lady Gaga to the ever-expanding cast, which also includes Steve Buscemi.
Even before the recent announcement, Gaga had expressed interest in joining the cast and had planned an entire storyline had she been given the opportunity. That said, there have been no major announcements regarding what her role will be but many outlets are reporting it’s a cameo being kept under wraps.
Though Gaga is new to The Addams Family world, she’s explored other aspects of the horror genre, most family in the American Horror Story franchise, playing characters that range from a Vampire to a Witch. However, audiences have also seen her take on more dramatic roles in movies like House of Gucci and A Star is Born.
The mystery series that follows Wednesday Addams, in particular, was a unique direction and has offered an opportunity for spinoffs, like one starring Uncle Fester, to come to life. Now, with Gaga in a cameo role, it’ll be interesting to see how the Mother Monster will be portrayed, whether as a new mentor for Wednesday or as an enemy.

Thankfully, ever since a viral video that connected Wednesday’s iconic dance to Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” there’s been a precedence for the two titans to meet at some point, and the fans are more than ready.
Some had theories about who she would play, like Aunt Ophelia Frump. She’s Morticia Addams sister.
Others are hoping this means she’ll drop new music.

On the other hand, some fans are a bit more apprehensive, especially after the recent box office struggles of Joker: Folie à Deux or her work on American Horror Story. They’re glad that Gaga’s role will be nothing more than a cameo.
With some fans pointing out that she’s gotten an Oscar nomination for A Star is Born so her acting isn’t as bad as some make it out to be.

Nevertheless, seeing such an icon join the ranks of an already beloved series and how she will act opposite Jenna Ortega is exciting for many.
