Bad Bunny & DJ Luian Finally Buried Their Beef – Here’s What Happened

Bad Bunny and DJ Luian finally buried their years-long beef. Last Friday (Sept. 5), the Puerto Rican superstar brought out DJ Luian as a special guest at his residency in Puerto Rico. The two former collaborators even performed a few of their classics together.
Under their label Hear This Music, DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz claimed to have discovered Bad Bunny. When Benito was starting out, his very first releases were Latine trap bangers like “Diles,” “Tú No Vive Así,” and “Soy Peor” with Hear This Music. After Bad Bunny dropped his debut album X 100pre in 2018, he shocked his fans by announcing that he had cut ties with DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz. He claimed that their lack of support led to the delayed release of his LP.
After Bad Bunny released X 100pre with his current label Rimas Entertainment, he stopped working with Hear This Music. He appeared to mend things with DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz after they produced “Odio” on his 2019 album Oasis with J Balvin. DJ Luian told Remezcla in 2020 that “Odio” was actually recorded before they had fallen out. “Even though it came out on last year’s Oasis EP, in reality, we worked on that song a long time ago before that,” he said.
After “Odio” was included on Oasis, DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz never appeared on another Bad Bunny album. Years after his rift with Hear This Music, Bad Bunny surprised his fans at his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” concert last Friday. He brought out DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz as guests in la casita. Before delivering the “¡Acho, PR es otra cosa¡” line, DJ Luian took a moment to apologize to Bad Bunny.

“I want to recognize that in my growth, I was very immature and I disrespected you,” he said in Spanish. “In front of all of Puerto Rico, I want to apologize to you. I want to thank you for believing in me from day one. Thanks to you, I’m part of the development of the biggest star Puerto Rico has ever produced.”
Bad Bunny then performed “Pa Ti” and “Diles” with DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz. Now that they have buried the hatchet, maybe there could be a Benito and Hear This Music reunion in the future.
