Now that he’s a retired Hall of Famer, David “Big Papi” Ortiz is putting some of his energy into other ventures besides baseball. Recently, the MLB legend launched a new sustainable luxury clothing line, the David Ortiz Collection. The collection is inspired by the traveling he does across the globe to exotic locations.
“My new clothing brand just dropped, and I need y’all to go follow [David Ortiz Collection] and click the link in the bio to SHOP!!!” Ortiz wrote on Instagram.
The luxury brand includes several patterned bowling shirts. Some of them come with matching shorts. One even looks like a Jean-Michel Basquiat painting.
Some of the shirts have cheetah patterns, while others have flowers. Ortiz partnered with designer Rashad Randolph and Resonance to create the clothing.
There are also matching denim jackets and slim-fit jeans.
On the website for the collection, Ortiz features clothes that range in price from $144 to $180. The prints he offers for his bowling shirts include geometric shapes, animals, stripes, abstract images, and other graphics. The outfits come in three different materials – denim, silk, and cotton.
“The David Ortiz Collection’s DNA reflects the impeccable style of the label’s founder and creative director,” the website reads. “David’s collection is bold, eye-catching and becoming for all silhouettes that reflect a style-savvy man who is the ideal blend of strength, confidence and swagger.”
We’re sure the clothes in the David Ortiz Collection will give us some of his swagger. We just wish they would also give us Big Papi’s swing.
