While on stage at Coachella last Friday (April 14), Becky G seemed to reference some of the personal drama and heartache that has taken place in her love life over the last few weeks.
Last month, rumors spread online that her fiancé, Sebastián Lletget, cheated on her two months after they were engaged.
From the Coachella stage, Becky G addressed the crowd cryptically, but most people took it as a statement about her relationship with Lletget. “Sometimes, things don’t go the way you plan,” she said between songs. “I’ll just say that. But sometimes, it’s not rejection. It’s redirection.”
It is still unknown exactly what Lletget did, but it was enough to compel him to release an apology a few days after the cheating rumor heated up on social media. “To Becky, you have been the light in my life, my strength, who has always shown me unconditional love,” he wrote. “Instead of honoring that love every day, I have done the opposite, hurting you, and disrespecting the one person I love more than anything. I am so sorry and know I have to do whatever it takes to earn back the trust and love you deserve.”
During her Coachella set, Becky G was once again without her diamond engagement ring. This was the second time she showed up to an event without her bling since the rumors started swirling. Late last month, the “Arranca” singer accepted an award at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles without her rock.
