Shakira hasn’t even been single for an entire month, and she’s already received a random marriage proposal and admiration from at least one stranger.
Europa Press in Spain is reporting that someone left a series of messages in green graffiti on the street outside of Shakira’s home in Barcelona. The mysterious text was spray-painted in English. The three messages left for Shakira by her admirer were, “I love you, my pretty woman,” “I came here for you, my love” and “I’m ready to marry on you right now.”
While some might find this kind of display of adoration charming or ultimately harmless, we’re going to assume there’s also a faction of people out there who would easily be creeped out if they woke up one morning to find that a stranger had expressed their love in such a public way. There’s no way a sentence like “I came here for you, my love” isn’t a bit off-putting.
We’re going to guess Shakira isn’t interested in the marriage proposal or starting a new relationship, especially with someone she probably doesn’t know. Even more so because she wasn’t married to her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué during their long time together.
Earlier this month, Shakira and Piqué released a joint statement stating that they were breaking up. “We regret to confirm that we are separating,” the couple said. “We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”
Since then, social media users have attempted to play matchmaker with Shakira by linking her to actors Chris Evans and Henry Cavill.
