Barbie Ferreira might not be returning to the next season of Euphoria, but she’s going to be working on something new for the fans. The actress has been announced as part of the cast for the upcoming House of Spoils, a joint production with Prime Video and Blumhouse.
Ferreira will join Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose in the upcoming psychological thriller as part of a deal between the two production companies. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Ferreira’s character is described as a “hopeful but sharp-tongued sous chef.”
The movie, directed by Bridget Savage Cole, follows an ambitious chef, played by DeBose, as she opens her own restaurant on a remote estate. She battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor, and crushing self-doubt that millennials are all too familiar with, tbh.
Among all of this, there is an evil spirit (of course) of the estate’s former owner that is determined to undermine the work of DeBose’s character. The story’s central themes of psychological thriller and food will probably leave fans with watering mouths and hearts pounding.
Ferreira is no stranger to playing characters in chaotic and sometimes emotionally damaging stories. The Euphoria star was a quick fan favorite as her character navigated life as a plus-size woman with a knack for BDSM.
Barbie Ferreira departure from the HBO show left fans upset that their favorite character, who was given a poor deal in season 2, wouldn’t get a chance to grow into her full self. Fortunately, it seems that Ferreira’s star is on the rise elsewhere, and fans are here for it.
House of Spoils is set to begin production this fall and will be released on Prime Video in 240 countries and territories around the world.
