Becky G will open up about her life in an upcoming documentary. The Mexican-American pop star will premiere Rebbeca (AKA Becky G) at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.

The Tribeca Film Festival will take place this year from June 4-15 in New York City. As part of the line-up announcement this morning (April 16), it was revealed that she will debut a documentary at the festival. Though known for her hits like “Shower,” “Mayores” with Bad Bunny, and “Mamiii” with Karol G, she is no stranger to Hollywood.

In 2017, Becky G played the Yellow Ranger in the Power Rangers reboot. She also had a cameo appearance through her voice in 2023’s Blue Beetle. For the first time in her career, she will let the camera zoom in on her own personal story in Rebbeca (AKA Becky G).

Rebbeca (AKA Becky G) was directed and produced by Jennifer Tiexiera and Gabriela Cavanagh. Tiexiera, who is of Mexican and Filipino descent, is known for directing the three-part HBO documentary Unveiled: Surviving La Luz del Mundo in 2022. Alongside Cavanagh, she will now look at a very personal moment in Becky G’s career. Rebbeca (AKA Becky G) will focus on the process the singer went through to make her first música mexicana album, 2023’s Esquinas.

According to the film’s synopsis, Becky G is “prompted to revisit her roots and dive deep into a beautiful and complicated past.” After the documentary’s premiere, she will also put on a special performance at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Ticket packages for the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival are now on sale on the event’s official website. On April 24, Tribeca members will be able to buy single day tickets. On April 29, single day tickets will go on sale for the general public. Last year, Becky G released a second música mexicana album called Encuentros
