Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke prove they are not to be messed with in the official trailer for Netflix’s Do Revenge. This is the sophomore film from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and is a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy.
Mendes and Hawke are in good company, supported by Austin Abrams, Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Ava Capri, Jonathan Daviss, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Alisha Boe, and Sophie Turner.
Robinson spoke with Vanity Fair and discussed finding the perfect cast for the film. “I had no preconceived ideas of who should play Drea or Eleanor, but the minute I spoke with Camila and Maya I knew instantly they were the only people I could make this film with,” Robinson expressed. “I felt that with the entire cast, honestly. It’s not just about finding people individually, but creating an ensemble that will work well together and boy, did that pay off. The chemistry you see on screen is so very real. All the actors became quite close while shooting. It felt like the proudest mom watching them all become best friends and they continue to hang out all the time.”
Fans quickly took to the internet once the trailer dropped, sharing their excitement for the film and how impressed they were with the cast.
Others praised the amazing costume design, falling in love with the outfits.
Of course, many also took the time to say how proud they are of Mendes, who has a lot of incredible projects coming up.
