Coco is going LEGO. The Oscar-winning 2017 animated film is one of five Pixar shorts that will be featured in the new series, LEGO Pixar: BrickToons.

BrickToons takes the characters of Coco and gives them a new adventure to discover – this time in LEGO form. Based on the trailer, some of these characters are Miguel Rivera, Mama Coco and even Miguel’s loyal Xoloitzcuintli, Dante.

In the trailer, viewers can see Miguel playing his recognizable white guitar with Dia de los Muertos designs and looking out onto the colorful Land of the Dead where he travels to in the original animated movie. The other Pixar films teaming up with LEGO are Brave, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Cars.

Coco, however, is the one we’re most excited about. If Miguel’s abuelita (grandma) gets upset at musicians playing music in BrickToons, we’re going to be curious about what a LEGO chancla looks like.

Coco’s Miguel is one of the many Disney LEGO Minifigures available for purchase at platforms like Amazon. Peruse the internet and find other Coco-inspired LEGO toys like Ernesto de la Cruz. We’re hoping the new series will trigger the release of more Coco LEGO products.

On social media, plenty of Pixar fans were happy to see BrickToons coming to Disney+ very soon. Animated films aren’t just for kids, of course.

Nostalgia will also be a factor for many tuning into the new series.

All five episodes of LEGO Pixar: BrickToons begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on September 4, 2024.
