The competition is getting intense on Drag Race México. For episode 2×08, the six remaining contestants put their acting and improvisation chops to the test in a morning show challenge. La Supermana, one of Mexico’s LGBTQ+ pioneers, appeared as the special guest judge this week. She joined the whole judging panel in praising the incredible lip-sync battle to a Belanova classic.

Lolita Banana and Taiga Brava opened the episode with a mini-challenge. The drag queens were tasked with putting together their best quick drag looks. On top of that, they had to apply their makeup on a bus that gradually accelerated. Horacio Potasio fell down a few times. Unique, who was compared to the fairy godmother from Shrek, and Elektra Vandergeld won the mini-challenge. Their prize was getting to pick their roles first for the Maxi Challenge.

For this week’s Maxi Challenge, the queens starred in the morning show “Buenas Tardes, México.” Unique and Jenary Bloom served as the hilarious hosts of the program. Lolita Banana praised them as a dynamic duo and said that they could give Turbulence and Burrita Burrona a run for their money. Jenary Bloom became the first queen to win three Maxi-Challenges this season. Unique also emerged victorious with her first Maxi-Challenge win. She dedicated her win to the memory of non-binary magistrate Jesús Ociel Baena and their partner.

Over on the runway, the theme was Mexican Candy. Unique shined on the catwalk with her colorful take on Chupirul lollipop. Another standout that La Supermana especially loved was Eva Blunt’s couture spin on the Mexican oblea wafers. Elektra Vandergeld also elicited gasps from the judges by turning the alegría snack into a high fashion moment.

The judges deemed the youngest queens in the competition, Horacio Potasio and Leexa Fox, as the bottom two this week. Both queens fiercely battled it out to the punk-infused “One, Two, Three, Go!” by Mexican trio Belanova. Lolita Banana, Taiga Brava, and La Supermana were cheering them while Óscar Madrazo was tossing tips from the judges’ panel. The spectacular lip-sync resulted in the first double shantay of the season, so no queen was eliminated.
