Drag Race México episode 3 the queens were tasked with using their comedy chops. On the runway front, they paid homage to the late Mexican icon María Félix. And co-hosts Valentina and Lolita Banana were joined on the judging panel by Óscar Madrazo and one of Mexico’s top pop stars, Danna Paola

For this week’s mini-challenge, the 10 remaining queens paired up for a taco-eating contest. Regina Voce and Vermelha Noir were named the winners of the contest with six tacos. The queens stayed in the same pairs for the maxi challenge where they had to film funny commercials for services like an airline, a nail salon, a funeral home, a mechanic shop, and a taco stand.

While the queens got ready for the main challenge, they had an important conversation about the topic of their chosen family. Gala Varo revealed that she was estranged from her mother who didn’t know that she does drag. She hoped to make her family proud with her appearance on the show. Most of the commercials had the judges, including special guest star Danna Paola, cracking up. Cristian Peralta and Argennis’ Ecstasy Airlines skit especially had them in stitches. On the other hand, Gala Varo and Margaret y Ya’s La Tigresa Nails commercial was called the worst of the night.

Afterward, Danna Paola visited the queens backstage during deliberations and shared a heartwarming moment with them. “I was raised in the [LGBTQ+] community since I was 8 years old and they embraced me and made me understand that it’s okay to be different,” she said.

On the runway, the queens wore looks inspired by María Félix, the legend of Mexico’s Golden Age of Cinema. Most of the queens hit the mark with their outfits, especially Regina Voce, who ended up winning the maxi challenge this week. Side note: she also said her grandmother was a body double for María Félix.

Due to getting outshined by their partners in the challenge, Vermelha Noir landed in the bottom for a third time with Serena Morena, who was in that position last week. Unfortunately, they both gave an underwhelming lip sync to Danna Paola’s hit single “XT4S1S.” Ultimately, Vermelha Noir became the second queen to sashay away from the show.
