A new crop of drag queens will be competing for the RuPaul’s Drag Race crown. Remezcla has the scoop on the Latina queens who will be appearing on season sixteen of the show next year.

RuPaul’s Drag Race will be speeding back to MTV on January 5, 2024. Fourteen queens are vying for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” Among the season sixteen cast, five queens are Latine and two were born in Latin America.

Geneva Karr will be making herstory as the first Mexico-born queen to compete in the main RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise. As a child, she moved with her parents to the U.S. in search of better opportunities. Geneva Karr is a dancing queen who hails from Texas.

Megami proudly identifies as a Nuyorican, or Puerto Rican from New York. She first started out as a Comic-Con cosplayer and now calls herself “geek-chic.” Her drag name means “goddess” in Japanese.

Mirage is of Indigenous and Mexican descent. Like the queen Anetra before her, she also hails from Sin City. With her showgirl swagger, Mirage considers herself to be the “Legs of Las Vegas.”

Morphine Love Dion is making herstory as the first queen of Nicaraguan descent to compete on RuPaul’s Drag Race. After getting her start by doing makeup tutorials on social media, she blossomed into the “It Girl of Miami.” Morphine Love Dion has previously appeared as a dancer in Bad Bunny and Maluma’s music videos.

Xunami Muse will become the second queen from Panama to compete on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Serena ChaCha was the first Panamanian queen to do so during the sixth season. Xunami Muse later moved to New York City where she became the drag daughter season thirteen runner-up Kandy Muse

The season sixteen premiere will be split into two parts with a “Rate-A-Queen” twist following their talent show performances. The first episode will air on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV
