Whether you like when Hollywood reboots beloved TV shows for new generations, the updated series have been coming fast in recent months with fresh takes on Saved by the Bell, Punky Brewster and Walker, Texas Ranger (now Walker).

So, what TV series should be up next for a revival? Actress and director Natalie Morales has an idea. She wants to see a reboot of the 1990s TV series The Nanny. And she wants the series to star rapper Cardi B in the title role.

“I still maintain Cardi B should star in the reboot of The Nanny,” Morales tweeted Tuesday (March 23).

After posting her dream casting for The Nanny reboot, Morales added she thinks a reboot hasn’t been announced yet because it would be hard to “find an appropriate lead” to replace the role that high-pitched actress Fran Drescher made famous for six seasons, from 1993-1999.

“I am telling you IT’S RIGHT HERE, THIS IS THE BEST IDEA,” Morales wrote.

Morales made her directorial debut this year with the film Language Lessons, which premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival last week. So, maybe she would think about directing the pilot episode of The Nanny reboot if a network made it happen.

Most of Morales’ followers on Twitter liked the idea and even gave their thoughts about what the reboot should be called with Cardi B in the lead role.

Others suggested Morales star in the series herself.

As an actress, Cardi B has been featured on the TV show Being Mary Jane and the film Hustlers. This year, she will have a role in the Fast and the Furious sequel F9 and take on the lead role in the comedy film Assisted Living, where she will play a small-time crook who hides out in a nursing home by disguising herself as an elderly woman.
