Nicky Jam is joining the cast of the movie American Sole. The Puerto Rican reggaetonero announced his participation in the film yesterday (Dec. 1), where he will appear alongside fellow Boricua superstar Bad Bunny.

In an interview for Rapetón, Nicky Jam revealed that he was cast as a bad guy in American Sole. The movie stars Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Ice Cube’s son, as two twenty-somethings who are reselling shoes to pay their college debts. Things go south when they seek additional funding for their side hustle from a shady character.

Bad Bunny will appear in American Sole as a supporting cast member and he’s also serving as an executive producer. Migos rapper Offset was also announced to appear. There’s no word yet on when to expect the movie.

Nicky Jam’s participation in American Sole is his second casting announcement in weeks. Last month, he revealed that he will be voicing the character Butch Cat in the remake of Tom & Jerry that’s due out early next year. Butch is a sometimes rival and friend of Tom’s and he’s a leader of the alley cats. Fellow reggaetonero Ozuna will also have a bit role in the upcoming movie.

Nicky Jam has been quite the Hollywood star. In 2018, he starred as himself in Netflix limited series El Ganador that was based on his life story. Earlier this year, Nicky appeared in blockbuster sequel Bad Boys For Life. Outside of movies, he recently returned to the music scene with his new single “Polvo” featuring Myke Towers.
