Class at EWS (formerly Elite Way School) will be back in session next month. The release date for season 2 of Netflix’s Rebelde reboot has been revealed. The show will be returning to Netflix on July 27, 2022.

The Netflix reboot of Rebelde launched on Jan. 5. In the eight episode run, fans got to know the new generation of EWS students that includes actors Azul Guaita, Franco Masini, Sergio Mayer Mori, Andrea Chaparro, Lizeth Selene, and Jerónimo Cantillo. Giovanni Grigio and Alejandro Puente round out the core cast. There were also familiar faces from the original series like Estefanía Villarreal as Celina and Karla Cossío as Pilar. Ex-RBD member Alfonso Herrera also gave his blessing to the reboot.

“There’s a new generation now,” he told Remezcla in January. “So it’s logical, life goes on. It’s their time now, and I hope they’re successful, that they do an amazing job. I think they have everything — the platform, the talent. So I’m sure it’ll be something wonderful and they’ll do very well.”

The first season ended on quite the cliffhanger. While details about the second season are under wraps, one thing that’s known for sure is that YouTuber and influencer Saak Figueroa will be joining the cast. Figueroa, who is professionally known as Saak, will be playing the character of Okane. Saak is a musician as well that has produced songs for Danna Paola’s K.O. album, including the hit “No Bailes Sola” with Sebastián Yatra.

Netflix revealed the release date for season 2 of the Rebelde reboot on Twitter. July 27 is when we’ll find out about the next chapter of EWS and if we’ll get another RBD band out of this series. In the first season, the cast members covered RBD’s classics like “Solo Quédate en silencio,” “Sálvame,” and, of course, “Rebelde.”
