On Sunday (July 10), actress Sandra Echeverría took to Twitter to tell fans a story about a bullying incident she experienced during the making of the film Savages a decade ago.

In the 2012 film directed and co-written by Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone (Platoon), Echeverría played Magda Sánchez, the daughter of a drug cartel leader played by Oscar nominee Salma Hayek (Frida). The film also starred Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Blake Lively, Benicio del Toro, and John Travolta.

In Echeverría’s first tweet on Sunday, she clarified that the story she wants to tell her fans is one of “bullying” and not “harassment.”

“Today I was reminded of a story of bullying in a project I filmed 10 years ago,” she wrote. “Of two very famous actors. It gave me a lot of courage again. One day I will tell you. If it happened today, I would definitely have charged them. I clarify: Bullying, NOT harassment.”

Echeverría then disclosed that her co-stars Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were the instigators of the bullying.

In a series of tweets, Echeverría explained that during a kidnapping scene where she was tied up in the back of a truck, Kitsch and Taylor-Johnson, who were in the front of the vehicle, would hurt her by making the truck move forcefully causing Echeverría to hit the back of the truck since her hands and feet were bound. She said her father was on the set and was very angry when he saw what was happening.

“I decided not to say anything and suck it up, but I hated them,” she wrote. “Two famously arrogant teenagers were able to do just that.”

Echeverría said that later at the premiere of the film, Taylor-Johnson apologized to her for his behavior. “At least he did seem to feel bad,” she wrote.

Echeverría will next be seen portraying Mexican actress and icon María Félix in the upcoming Televisa Univisión bioseries María Félix: La Doña.
