This Underrated Webseries is Your Next Binge-Watch

If you’re looking for a quick, but powerful binge-watch, we’ve got just the webseries for you: Straight Up Gay, written, created and starring Loco Ninja, a lifestyle influencer and creator. And if you get hooked, we’ve got good news. Planning for Season 2 has already started, so rest assured that there’s more of the story coming.
The webseries, described as a “fresh, over-the-top, dramatic, funny, and heart-forward webseries that’s all about the unshakable (and sometimes hilariously awkward) bond between a gay man (Loco Ninja) and his straight best friend (Alexander Moreno)” premiered on June 14th, and four episodes are already available to watch. The first season is slated to have eight episodes in total.
What about the other four? The next batch of episodes is expected in October, with guest stars like Priscilla Diaz from “The Electric Company” and influencer Hikari Fleurr making an appearance. Episodes are available on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat.
So often we see queer-straight relationships portrayed in stereotypical fashion, or if not, as side-plots in a story about something else. Straight Up Gay, however, dives into the sometimes awkward, but real love between two people who might not have the same sexual preferences, but deep down are not that different.

It does so by delving not just into the day-to-day situations Loco Ninja and his friend, Alex W. Goals go through, but also by showcasing vulnerable conversations meant to push back against cliches. And it’s very funny, too!
Can straight-gay male friendships be seen as commonplace in our society? Straight Up Gay takes up the mantle of showing that friendship is friendship, and it’s worth celebrating.
