Star Wars fans with no interest in football were tuned into the NFL matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday night (January 16) to see the premiere of the new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3. For them, it was a game-winner.

Disney+ debuted a new poster earlier in the day, but it was the trailer for the live-action series that had people talking about what’s to come for the show’s hero Mando (Pedro Pascal), and his adopted son Grogu.

In a teaser last September, fans learned that Mando and Grogu are now a “clan of two.” Since Mando removed his helmet and revealed his face in season 2, he “is a Mandalorian no more.” To reclaim his warrior status, he must visit the “living waters” of the planet Mandalore.

The new preview begins with Mando and Grogu setting off on a new adventure together. According to the logline, “the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history” while “the Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”

“Being a Mandalorian’s not just learning about how to fight,” Mando says in the trailer. “You also have to know how to navigate the galaxy. That way, you’ll never be lost.”

It looks like Mando and Grogu know exactly where they are when they meet up with Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) in part of the trailer. Along with Weathers’ return to the cast, Giancarlo Esposito and Amy Sedaris are also confirmed for season 3.

At the end of the trailer, we witness how Grogu’s powers have grown when he uses The Force to defeat a threat. We’ll see if Mando and Grogu reach their destination when The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Disney+ starting March 1.
