When Will ‘Selena y Los Dinos’ Be Streaming?

Selena y Los Dinos premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in January. After winning the prize for U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Archival Storytelling, the film by Isabel Castro was removed from streaming on the Sundance website due to footage leaking online.
The documentary will now stream on Netflix globally this winter.
“We are so excited to finally share that our documentary Selena y Los Dinos is coming to Netflix!” Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla shared in a statement. “Grateful to have a platform that helps bring Selena’s story to fans around the world.”
The news of Selena y los Dinos coming to Netflix is also tied to Colombian artist Karol G.
Karol G is a lifelong Selena Quintanilla fan. La Bichota has a tattoo of the late queen of Tejano music alongside herself and Rihanna. In 2023, she paid tribute to Selena again with her song “Mi Ex Tenía Razón,” which embraced the Tejano music genre. In the music video, Karol G also wore a shirt with Selena’s picture on it.
While on the pink carpet for the KAROL G: MAÑANA FUE MUY BONITO [KAROL G: TOMORROW WAS BEAUTIFUL] documentary last week, the singer was surprised with a secret envelope. Now it’s been revealed that Karol G was the first person to find out the Selena y Los Dinos documentary will soon stream on Netflix. While getting emotional over the news, she talked about how Selena has inspired her.
“People, like, always ask me what was that specific moment when I realized this is what I want to do for the rest of my life?” she said. “And it was watching Selena’s movies. She gets it. She deserves it. She worked for it. I think I saw that and I realized, like, ‘Oh my God! Maybe I can do it. This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.'”
