A Latina Marvel star and a former member of Mexican pop group RBD are teaming up for a new movie. Xochitl Gomez, who is known for starring in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will join singer Maite Perroni in the musical film No Te Olvides.

Mexican-American actress Gomez played the iconic character of America Chavez in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A year later, she showed that music also fit into her world as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. Gomez ended up winning season 32 of the reality TV competition. Mexican singer and actress Perroni is most known for her time in RBD and starring in the telenovela Rebelde. Before getting back with the group for a reunion tour in 2023, Perroni mostly focused on her acting career in Mexico.

Now Gomez and Perroni will blend their acting, dancing, and musical chops in the upcoming movie No Te Olvides. According to Deadline, the film written by Nerris Nevarez-Nassiri will focus on a family with three generations of Mexican-American women. Gomez will play María, who is described as a closeted Chicana. Perroni will take on the role of her mother named Celestina. In this story about intergenerational bonds, Gomez’s María character goes on a journey to take her grandmother back to her hometown in Mexico before her Alzheimer’s sets in.

Production on No Te Olvides is scheduled to begin in the fall. The movie will be directed by Kimberly McCullough, who was at the helm of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Tony Estrada, who previously worked on The Mother, the Menacer and Me, and Kristina Rivera, who was behind The Mule and Sully, will produce the film. Gomez is next set to star in the animated movie The Cat in the Hat, which will be released in March 2026.
